Lexington School District One is one of the fastest-growing school districts in South Carolina. It currently ranks sixth in total enrollment with 26,800 students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12, with more than 3,800 full-time employees spread across 30 schools. The district consists of 360 square miles, stretching from Lake Murray to Aiken County. Cullum Services, Inc. (CSI) has been a strategic partner of District One for many years and continues to provide heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) maintenance services for all of the facilities within its jurisdiction. The Columbia office of CSI is located in Lexington County, allowing easy access and quick response time to heating and cooling emergencies.
Lexington High School is one of the largest complexes in District One. The project bid in Spring 2019, and Cullum Services, Inc. was awarded a contract to replace 49 rooftop units and 8 ductless split systems in conjunction with other trades such as roofing, paving, electrical, and controls. Due to the expedited time frame of the summer project, the general contractor pre-ordered the new equipment from Trane. Once started, Cullum was prepared for the usual challenges that tend to creep up during projects, including roof curb surprises that weren’t visible until the old units were lifted off and working around other trades and their schedules. Cullum also worked with the roofers to add copper drain lines for this project.
