Cullum Mechanical Construction, Inc. hosted its 32nd Annual Family Outing for team members and their families at Wannamaker County Park in North Charleston on June 4th.  With over 270 guests at this year’s tailgating-themed bash, there were many team colors represented and plenty of rivalry.  While the adults ate Mr. Furman Cullum’s infamous boiled peanuts and patiently awaited lunch; children of all ages played lawn Jenga, corn hole, ring toss, and raced down the 18’ dual lane water slide.  Just across the meadow from the Tupelo Shelter was a splash pad with lots of sprinkler action.  Since no tailgate party is complete without good food, this year’s all-star lunch was grilled onsite by John Brown of Southern Q-n-Stew. Chicken kabobs, brats, and award winning wings accompanied by REAL macaroni and cheese…mmm mmm good!  As is tradition, many employees showed off their baking (or shopping) skills by bringing their favorite dessert to share.  Over 20 teams competed in the 3rd annual corn hole tournament.  Shawn O’Brien and his son Tyler fought hard against Jeff Throne and Chris Cullum for the win, but in the end it was Chris and Jeff with a new set of corn hole boards and bragging rights till next year. Thanks to everyone that came out, brought dessert, ate, laughed and played.  It was a great success because of you!
