Position Overview
Cullum Mechanical is seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our accounting team. This role will support day-to-day accounting operations, ensure accurate financial reporting, and assist with month-end close processes. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced construction environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and maintain general ledger accuracy.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
- Support job cost tracking and project accounting.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with audits.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (required).
- 2+ years of accounting experience; construction industry experience preferred.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, Viewpoint, or similar).
- Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
