Cullum Constructors, Inc. – Blackbaud, Inc. is a supplier of software and services specifically designed for nonprofit organizations. Its products focus on fundraising, website management, CRM, analytics, financial management, ticketing, and education administration. Blackbaud was founded in 1981 and is headquartered on Daniel Island, Charleston, SC. In November 2016, Cullum Constructors was awarded a contract to help build a four story, 174,021 square foot office building with a fully functional kitchen, cafeteria seating, 18 restrooms, and multiple modern amenities such as a fitness center, game room, Starbucks, chipping/putting green, volleyball, basketball, and bocce ball courts. Superintendent Thomas Brown’s primary challenge was manpower, but various shutdowns due to a hurricane, eclipse, and snowstorm presented obstacles to the team as well. The new HVAC system includes (2) 900 GPM cooling towers, (9) vertical self-contained units, (2) 40HP primary pumps, (3) 30HP secondary pumps, and associated ductwork and piping. The project duration is over 400 days, but the end is in sight with completion scheduled for June 13, 2018.
