In 1966, the State of South Carolina purchased the old Columbia Post Office, later reopening it as the Supreme Court Building in 1971. Amongst the modifications was the addition of an impressive courtroom, adorned with the seal of the Supreme Court and other symbols of our South Carolina heritage. Last Summer , Cullum Services, Inc. was awarded an HVAC mechanical contract through the Department of Administration to replace several dozen terminal units and upgrade the Johnson Controls Metasys automation system. Several factors made this a challenging project, including material lead times, the shifting court schedule, access to secure areas, and coordination with justices, clerks, and other judicial employees who remained onsite while work was taking place. As you may expect in a building of its age, the Supreme Court has many hidden surprises, including old, deteriorated air handling equipment operating at a fraction of the airflow necessary to properly condition the space. Cullum is always up for a challenge, and it’s why they are a leading HVAC mechanical contractor in South Carolina.  Another quality job in the books from Cullum Services Columbia office. Great job!
