Remember being a kid…running around, chasing friends, climbing trees, running up dirt mounds and jumping in mud puddles? Rugged Maniac is the adult version of that. The 3.1 mile course is comprised of obstacles ranging from towers of stacked shipping containers and underground tunnels to trampolines and water slides. Twelve Cullum team members, intent on completing the course, started at a modest pace when the race kicked off on Saturday, March 18th. With less than a mile to go, Philip Manigo took a nasty fall and ended the day with 9 stitches in his shin. Prior to his injury, Philip was a natural leader. He filmed the entire race with his helmet cam, waiting after each obstacle to capture the excitement of his teammates’ successes. Please join me in congratulating the 2017 CULLUM MANIACS, we are most proud of you. “Strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things you once thought you couldn’t.” R.
